R. F. Reid’, lacquered, good very fine (6) £120-160 Footnote Robert Francis Reid was born at Arrow River, Manitoba, in November 1924 and enlisted in the Canadian Army in at Regina in May 1943. Embarked for the U.K. at the end of the latter year, he was assigned to the 2nd Canadian Infantry Reinforcement Unit and thence, in February 1944, to Prince Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Italy. And it was in this latter capacity that he was killed in action on 20 May 1944. The son of Olive M. Reid of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, he was buried in Cassino War Cemetery.
