Title: Small archive of letters from the Australian painter, Jack Kenneth to Marlan Beilke Author: Jack, Kenneth Place: Publisher: Date: Various dates Description: A small archive of letters from Kenneth Jack in Australia to his friend, Jeffers scholar and letterpress printer Marlan Beilke in Cailfornia. Jack the well known painter who painted the Jeffers’ Tor House writes to Beilke; long letters filled with his thoughts on painting, the world and building his house in Australia. The lot consists of approximately 10 long holograph letters, 1 letter from Jack’s wife, 8 color printed Christmas cards all reproducing images of his paintings or of his new house, 1 postcard plus a set of architectural plans for the Jack’s new house in the Australian prairie. Also a few other pieces of ephemera including a flyer announcing a Kenneth Jack print for 1981.Most with original mailing envelopes. Jack, born in 1924 in Melbourne is one of Australia’s foremost contemporary artists, the only Australian member of the Royal Watercolor Society of London and whose works hang in the V&A, the Cincinnati Art Museum and in the collection of the Queen Mother. He was commissioned by the Australian government to paint the mural for the Montreal Expo Australian Pavilion. Lot Amendments Condition: All very good. Item number: 248353
