Title: Society of German-American missionaries working among Delaware and Mohican Indian tribes Author: Place: Philadelphia Publisher: Conrad Zentler Date: 1825 Description: Act of Incorporation and Stated Rules by the Society of the United Brethren for Propagating the Gospel among the Heathen (Philadelphia, Printed by Conrad Zentler,1825) 16pp. bound in blank wrappers. When the Episcopal United Brethren began in 1740, “to make settlements in America, the principal aim of their Members, coming over from Europe, was to carry the glorious truths of the Gospel to the Indians here…” In 1818, “a Society for Propagating the Gospel among the Heathen…” was incorporated. All the principal members were German-Americans, based in Pennsylvania, who worked among the Delaware and Mohican Indian tribes. Lot Amendments Condition: very good Item number: 251206
