Condition : minor paper clip indentation in the top margin, usual folds. exceptionally rare circular announcing the secession of mississippi, florida and alabama . The circular continues from the above: “… and that His Excellency the Governor be requested to express to the Executive of these respective States the congratulations of South Carolina upon their action.” Mississippi, Florida and Alabama seceded on January 9th, 10th and 11th, respectively, becoming the second, third and fourth states to secede following South Carolina on December 20th, 1860. This circular apparently unrecorded, and not listed in OCLC or Parrish & Willingham.
