SPEED, JOHN. The Theatre of the Empire of Great-Britaine...together with a Prospect of the most famous parts of the World, viz. Asia, Africa, Europe, America. Folio, contemporary calf, severely worn, 20 maps in the Theatre and 10 maps in the Prospect with tears at central folds, most of these with old repair, lower edges of most leaves grubby and a bit soft from use, Caemarden and Palestine with more prominent tears; Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire with worming at bottom central fold; Kingdome of Great Britaine and Ireland creased and with a few edge tears; Berkshire with tiny hole, some old soiling mostly towards the folds and from old damp; roads plans dampstained, Index wormed at end . Five parts with separate pagination and continuous quiring, engraved frontispiece with arms of King Charles II, engraved title, letterpress title in red and black and 96 double-page engraved maps (68 in the Theatre, 28 in the Prospect).
