Postal envelope with a NASA rubber stamp cachet. Kennedy Space Center postmark dated November 11, 1966, the launch date of Gemini 12. The envelope is displayed between paragraphs of a Typed Letter Signed by THOMAS STAFFORD. THOMAS P. STAFFORD'S signed provenance letter reads in part: "The Gemini 12 envelope displayed below is from my personal collection.... Gemini 12 was the last flight of the Gemini Program which was commanded by James Lovell with Buzz Aldrin serving as pilot. It was a successful mission where Buzz demonstrated that an EVA or spacewalk could be easily performed provided adequate hardware such as hand holds and foot restraints were placed at appropriate areas on the space vehicle. Gemini was a fast paced, dynamic program where the NASA and Industry team launched ten manned spacecraft in just 21 months. I was privileged to fly two of these missions, Gemini 6 and Gemini 9...."
