Characteristic of Buddhist sculptures from Bhutan is a three-lobed petal design at the base of the figure, resembling a Padmasambhava image published in Bartholomew & Johnston (eds.), The Dragon's Gift, 2008, pp. 274-5, no. 57, and another image sold at Christie's, New York, 21 September 2021, lot 411. There is a thin layer of smoky black residue in recessed areas from exposure to temple lamps within the culture. Remains of cold gold in the face. The base is sealed with a later baseplate.
