Taxidermy - A preserved turtle, circa 1900, the shell polished for wall-mounting, 61cm long. Note: This turtle was washed-up on a beach on the Hebridian island of Rum where it was discovered by the head gardener of the Kinloch estate. It subsequently passed, via his daughter, to the present vendor who has provided a letter of provenance to accompany the lot.
