Author: Agrippa von Nettesheim, Heinrich Cornelius Place Published: London Publisher: Printed by R.W. for Gregory Moule Date Published: 1651 [i.e. 1650] Description: [24 (of 28)], 583, [13] pp. With woodcut diagrams & occult figures. 17.5x13 cm (7x5¼"), modern cloth. First edition in English. First edition in English of Agrippa's occult masterpiece, De occulta philosophia libri tres, written prior to 1510 but not published until 1533, two years before Agrippa's death. Lacks frontispiece, a preliminary leaf of verse, folding table, and pp.243-250. Also lacks last two index leaves, but these are supplied in fine manuscript facsimile in an early hand. Occasional period marginalia. Condition: Rebacked rather crudely in black cloth; some soiling/darkening to contents, preliminary leaves stained with repairs; trimmed with slight loss to marginalia and bottom; good condition, quite scarce.
