The first daishō set almost circular, iron, the surface etched and inlaid in gold, copper, shakudō, and shibuichi with the Rokkasen (Six Poetic Immortals), the reverse with their names in variously shaped cartouches, each tsuba signed Ichijōsai Hirotoshi (Haynes 01415, circa 1800-1825) with a jewel-like kaō (cursive monogram); the second daishō set rounded rectangular, migakiji, mokume (woodgrain pattern) of copper and shakudō; the third daishō set irregularly shaped with heavily hammered-up rims, copper pierced and chiseled with gold details, each depicting a dragon and clouds and signed Tomomitsu saku; the tsuba and fuchi-gashira set comprising an almost circular shibuichi migakiji tsuba with kebori (line engraving) and flush inlay depicting agricultural scenes in the Kano manner, signed Hosono Sōzaemon Masamori (Haynes 04224) and dated Hōreki san mizunoto-tori gogatsu no hi kore o horu (carved in the fifth month of 1760) and a shibuichi migakiji fuchigashira with similar subject matter, signed Geishū no jū Yoshioka Isaburō Hirotoshi (Haynes 01420) (9)
