Tiffany Studios Bronze and Favrile Glass Lamp First quarter of the 20th century In the Pine Needle pattern, the domed shade comprised of eight bent and leaded striated semi-opaque green and white colored glass panels, unsigned, on a naturalistic base with an openwork standard and four arm supports continuing to a domed circular foot, stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 2781, and with the T.G.D. CO. logo, pierced metal cap. Height of shade 5 inches, diameter 12 1/4 inches, height overall 22 3/4 inches. C Sold by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston for the Benefit of the Collection
REVISED CONDITION REPORT 9/19/14 Please note there is one large section of glass that has been replaced. Shade: the glass shade has been extensively shattered and damaged; there are a few areas with losses to the glass that have now been partially "infilled" with glue, which has now discolored and darkened with age; each of the eight individual bent slag glass panels is badly damaged, however, the panels appear to be relatively stable; the exterior side of the etched metal shade has a somewhat dulled appearance; the shade sits slightly up on one of the four arms and one of the arm supports may need slight adjustment to better allow shade to sit properly; the damage to the glass is not readily evident when the shade is viewed on the exterior side (the dense etched pine needle design in the metal shade obscures it; the damage is readily apparent when the shade is viewed on the interior side; the metal portion of the shade has a mottled brown and green patina; the heat cap appears to be original Base: appears to be in good condition; mottled brown and green patina; retains an old G.E.CO. molded plastic on/off switch; wear and rubbing to patina, appropriate to age and handling; wired Heat Cap: is not pine needle pattern, but has a normal diamond piercing
