It was one of the last models in her husband's studio that Käthe Scheurich sold to the Meissen manufactory to alleviate the financial distress caused by her husband's protracted illness, perhaps because of its personal significance. The model was produced in Böttger stoneware in either 1928 or 1929. Only a single example was sold by 1945.
