First English Edition. Inscribed by Brautigan on the front free endpaper to Price Dunn: "This copy is for Price Dunn. Richard Brautigan. March 12, 1971." Price Dunn was a friend of Brautigan's and the basis for the Character of Lee Mellon in Brautigan's The Confederate General from Big Sur, and the book itself was largely inspired by adventures had while he and his wife were visiting Dunn in the Big Sur Area of California. An important presentation copy of Brautigan's most beloved work. Lot Amendments Condition: Some wear and scuffing to jacket, Light wear to boards with light rubbing to extremities, a bit of darkening at top edges, slightest bow to front boards; very good.
