Tryptych of The Resurrection and Descent and sixteen major feasts, with two depictions of the Mother of God Russia, 18th Century Traditionally painted in sombre colours on gilt ground, the central panel with the Ressurection and Descent surrounded by the great feasts of the Church, the left wing with the Mother of God of the Burning Bush, with St. Sophia the Holy Wisdom of God above, flanked on five registers with chosen saints, the right wing with the Mother of God 'All Creation rejoiceth in Thee', flanked by the Deisis on the left, the Pokrov on the right, with Saint John the Forerunner below, boards repaired with restoration, slight paint loss , in brass frame, the upper board applied with a brass cross and openwork cornerpieces 5 1/8 x 21 1/8 in.
