Mid-20th century American sterling silver flatware by Tuttle Silversmiths of Boston, Massachusetts, 'Onslow' pattern. During President Calvin Coolidge's term, Tuttle adopted the custom of marking each piece with a crescent and initials of the incumbent President of the United States, a mark now unique to Tuttle. This set has been assembled over many years ranging from the Presidency of John F. Kennedy through the Presidency of Gerald R. Ford. Service for twelve (12) to include: (12) dinner knives; (12) luncheon knives; (12) salad dessert forks; (12) dinner forks; (24) luncheon forks; (12) oval soup spoons; (24) teaspoons; (12) hollow handle butter spreader knives; (12) cream soup spoons; (12) ice tea spoons; (8) ice cream spoons/forks; (8) grapefruit spoons; (12) large dessert spoons; (12) demitasse spoons; (12) oyster/cocktail forks; (1) cake knife; (1) letter opener; (1) cheese knife; (1) pierced serving spoon/fork; (2) serving spoons; (1) cold meat fork; (1) salad fork; (1) tomato server; (1) lemon fork; (1) pickle fork; (1) jelly server; (1) serving butter knife/master salad; (1) round serving spoon; (1) large sauce ladle; (1) small sauce ladle; (2) small round spoons; (1) sugar spoon; (1) carving knife; (1) carving fork; (12) steak knives, two hundred twenty-nine (229) pieces total, approximately 314 troy oz TW (not including stainless blades).
