Two endleaves from early printed books, with numerous manuscript additions, in Latin, on paper [Germany and France, first half of sixteenth century] 2 leaves: (i) a list of items in the once-accompanying volume by Petrus Stegler(?) of Regensberg, its apparent owner, listing the contents of the volume as some 12 items including Lactantius, De Opificio dei, the works of Angelus Politanus (Polizano, 1454-94), Phillip Melanchthon, here giving publication dates of 1519, 1518 and 1511, and others, all in scrawling Germanic hand, owners name in faded red, 210 by 140mm.; (ii) large leaf with pen trials, mostly in late humanist hands, including a note in Latin about a Dr Bernardin Cordier (the relative of the writers mother, who died on 9 May 1529; he was survived by a son, Pierre, who himself died on 23 June 1532), small stains, else good condition, 300 by 215mm. Both of these come from the stock of Bernard Rosenthal: with his stock numbers BMR Misc 39 and BMR Misc 29 respectively. Accompanied by his cataloguing for the second item.
