TWO GERMAN SMALL-SWORDS, IN 17 T H CENTURY STYLE 19 t h Century The first with wavy blade struck with a two-part inscription within the short fuller on respective sides at the forte (rubbed), iron hilt chiselled in relief, including double shell-guard decorated with a cavalry battle scene in high relief on the outside and with further mounted subjects in low relief on the inner-face, and the remaining elements involving classical warriors, monsters and further mounted figures (light pitting, rubbed); the second with slender blade, iron hilt chiselled in relief including short quillons with mulberry terminals, ring-guard, and pierced pommel (the blade heavily pitted, the hilt pitted and rubbed). 29¾ i n (75.6cm) and 28 5/8 i n (72.7cm) blades (2)
