TWO JADE CARVINGS QING DYNASTY, 18TH/19TH CENTURY The first of white jade, carved as a recumbent deer grasping a lingzhi sprig in its mouth, shared with its companion. The stone is of pale whitish celadon tone with a small area of russet inclusions. The other carving is modelled as two cats playing with a floral sprig. The stone ranges from a milky white tone to pale russet, with a concentrated area of russet inclusion forming a butterfly on the back of the larger cat. 2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) long and 1 3/4 in.
