One 5¾x7½, bound in accordion-style pictorial lacquered wooden board (lacks rear board), with floral patterned designs; other in full decorative leather with colored stamped designs (front and rear). Both are period oblong albums. Tranquil locales in the heart of Japan, rural villages, high bridges with waterfalls, teahouses, plantations, rickshaws, many of finely dressed women including a Japanese woman after taking opium, and more. Lot Amendments Condition: Rubbing and edge wear to exterior; 2" piece of outer layer missing to front lacquered board (which is detached along with some photos), light foxing and soiling chiefly to mounts; photos very good or better (some with slight fading).
