Mexico - Colored troops belonging to Company E, 24th U.S. Infantry, are seen here in battle drill..." "Mexicans Release U.S. Negro Troops - El Paso, Texas - The negro troopers belonging to the 10th U.S. Cavalry, who were captured by the Mexicans in the fight at Carrizal, are seen as they were released to the American authorities here..." Rare pair of original press photographs of "Buffalo Soldiers" serving in the little incursion into Mexico that preceded U.S. entry into World War I. Lot Amendments Condition: First photograph with 1½x3" piece missing at lower edge, both with some fading and other wear; caption sheets with a few tears and creases, old stamps at corners used in earlier mounting; good to very good.
