Two medals made of white metal: 1. Medal commemorating the inauguration of the Great Synagogue (Große Synagoge) in Erfurt, 1884. Obverse: synagogue building surrounded by the Hebrew legend, "In commemoration of the synagogue in the holy city of Erfurt / 14 Elul 5644". Reverse: shield inside a German legend. Diameter: 33 mm. Suspension loop. 2. Obverse: building façade inside the legend "JSR LBA Wurzburg Synagogenbau 1926" [Synagogue / Beit Midrash for Jewish teachers in Wurzburg?]. Reverse: chest with the Hebrew legend "Rosh Pinah, Libi Kenista bebay midrasha". Above the chest is a Star of David with an eye in its center. On the margin is a Hebrew legend reading "Al even achat shiva einayim" [Seven eyes on one stone] and "Mikdash meat bekidshat Ma'alita". Diameter: 40 mm. Provenance: collection of Bruno Kirschner.
