TWO RARE BRONZE RITUAL LADLES WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, CIRCA 10TH-9TH CENTURY BC The smaller with arched handle, the broad flat end cast with a bird with long crest feathers that trail upwards, with a small bovine mask cast at the base of the cup-shaped bowl; the long arched handle of the larger ladle with median ridge and triangular tip, with a taotie mask at the other end which connects to the side of the deep bowl, both with some green encrustation 6½ and 11½ in. (16.5 and 29.2 cm.) long (2)
