TWO SMALL PALE YELLOWISH-GREEN SEMI-TRANSLUCENT JADE PENDANTS SHANG/EASTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, CIRCA 12TH-5TH CENTURY BC One an irregular fragment carved as a recumbent bottle-horn dragon with a small pierced tab projecting from the mouth, the features of the head carved in low relief, with a bent leg carved on one edge, the canted back carved with scrolls and the arched underside left plain; the other, possibly a handle, of thick semi-circular form, well carved as a crouching dragon, the head with large eyes below striated brows and coiled horns at one end, with the bent legs and scrolls carved on the sides and a mane on the top, with bullnose perforations on top and the ends, traces of cinnabar 1 3/8 and 1 5/16 in. (3.5 and 3.4 cm.) across (2)
