Utagawa Kunisada II (1823-1880) Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900) Utagawa Kunitoshi (fl.1847-99) Tsukioka Kogyo (1869-1927) Nine prints, the first an okubi-e (large-head portrait) of an actor in the role of Awayuki Nashiro in the play Hakkenden , signed Kunisada ga and published by Tsutaya Kichizo; the second, the central sheet of a triptych by Kunichika; the third, Kokoku bijin kagami (Mirror of Japanese beauties), signed in Roman script Kunitoshi (see illustration); the fourth, a mother and child, signed Shodo ; the fifth and sixth, two prints signed and sealed in red Kogyo , the play Rashomon , from the series Nogaku hyakuban (One hundred Noh plays); the last three by Kunisada--generally very good impressions, good colors, tape residue on some oban tate-e : 36.8 x 24.9cm. each approx.
