VENICE AND TUSCANY - A Composite album of Venetian and Tuscan views comprising 4 works by Zocchi, Sandi and Canaletto. 1757-1784. The works bound in an oblong 2° album, contemporary Italian half calf, spine gilt (upper spine slightly cracked). The album comprising; Cosimo ZOCCHI and Others. Raccolta delle piu belle Vedute e Prospettive della Citta di Firenze . [Florence]: Niccolo Pagni and Giuseppe Bardi, [circa 1783]. 2° (430 x 600mm). Engraved title, map of Florence (dated 1784), and 24 numbered plates, most by Cosimo Zocchi after Giuseppe Zocchi (Very light staining on the verso of last few plates). A reissue of Giuseppe Zocchi's famous work Scelta di XXIV Vedute...della citta di Firenze first published in 1755. In this issue the plates have been re-engraved, the majority by Cosimo Zocchi brother of Giuseppe. Although the compositions have been changed, the views still retain the charm of Giuseppe's street scenes. Mason Giuseppe Zocchi p.187-188. Antonio SANDI (1733-1817). [ Ventiquattro prospettive delle Isole della Laguna di Venezia ]. Venice: Ludovico Furlanetto, [ca. 1779]. 24 etched views by Antonio Sandi after Franciscus Tironi, 425 x 580mm., depicting waterside scenes on the islands of Venice, numbered 5-28 (numbers 26 and 28 in manuscript); together with a set of 4 etched views Prospetti Marittimi by Sandi after Tironi of the ports of Murazzi, Malamocco, Lido and Chioggia, all loosely inserted, 530 x 710mm, each with arms of the dedicatee and Latin dedications. A very rare series of Venetian views by Antonio Sandi the four Prospetti Marittimi considered to be the first 4 plates to accompany the main island series. The Isole are in their second states with the addition of numbers on the plates (except plates 26 and 28); the Prospetti Marittimi in the first state with the captions in Latin published by Furlanetto.
