Roman types 1:113 (text), 2:80 (commentary), Greek type 3:80 (some words in commentary). Text with commentary surround, 65 lines of commentary. Initial spaces, unrubricated. (1/10 with inner and lower margins renewed, upper corner repaired on 3/10 affecting a few letters, long repaired tear on 7/5 crossing text, some filled wormholes occasionally affecting letters, a few occasional small stains and light soiling.) 19th-century English blue hard-grained gilt-panelled morocco, gilt-lettered and -decorated on spine, edges gilt, by C. Smith (slightly rubbed at head); quarter morocco folding case. Provenance : George Halford Heald (name on slip pasted to flyleaf, crossed out in ink); purchased from Marshall Field's, Chicago, 17 June 1985. The first edition of Virgil to include the commentary of Servius, which surrounds the text. Servius' commentary had previously been printed separately. His commentary relied greatly on Aelius Donatus, though he names him only when he disagrees with him.
