Opera Mathematica, in unum volumen congesta , edited by Frans van Schooten, Leyden: ex officina Bonaventurae & Abrahami Elzeviriorum, 1646, 2°, FIRST COLLECTED EDITION, title, index and section on the calendar printed in red and black, the title with device, sheet with volvelles for cutting out inserted after 3L3, woodcut diagrams (this stamped on verso, title dampstained, with small hole in blank area and repair at lower margin, perforation on title repeated on 2L2, ink stamp on verso of title and accession number on *2, O2 holed at outer margin, repairs to final quire 3Y, with more conspicuous damage to last leaf), later vellum-backed boards (spine worn) [Brunet V, 1212; Honeyman 3050; Norman 2152; Willems 609] -- and 8 other volumes, including a browned copy of Euclidis quare supersunt omnia (Oxford, 1733), and André Tacquet's Opera Mathematica (Antwerp, 1707) with 86 folding plates. Ex University of Chicago Library Rare Science Duplicate Collection; the lot sold not subject to return. (6)
