The title page The Artifical Clock-Maker, A Treatise of Watch & Clock-work, Second Edition Printed for James Knapton at the Crown in St Paul's Church-yard 1700, signed in ink Thomas Grignion. The folded letter with address of a Mr Cyrill Wyche Esq, Hockwold-cum-Wilton, Near Brandon, Norfolk. Dated Lond 30th August 1768. of note in the letter is the following 'I can safely say the Mr Grignion the maker of your gold repeating watch has turned out of his hands one of the best watches ever made in England, and without prejudice to the person has made your watches before, can assure you this is worth any two you have ever had.Mr Grignion well knowing the Theory as well as the Practical part; the other Gentleman in Fleet Street not showing? of a proper time by what I can understand of the trade, and does not understand either' On the reverse is an itemised invoice including many fine objects, which includes the Gold repeating watch mentioned in the letter by Grignion. The letter is addressed to Cyrill Wyche Esq, Hockwold cum Wilton, Near Brandon Norfolk. Various sizes
