He Shows His Face." Studio portrait of Caw-lac-its-ca, a Tawakoni man, originally taken by Alexander Gardner in Washington, D.C. He wears a Western shirt and vest, with a blanket at his waist and a bear claw pendant around his neck."Tawaconi" written in the negative. Also with a full-length photograph of In-Tee-Us (also spelled I-Sa-Seesh), captured by William Henry Jackson in Montana at the Crow Agency, ca 1871. In-Tee-Us wears a medal around his neck, with a striped coat draped over his shoulder and a plumed hat held in his right hand. Provenance:American Indian Photography Collection of John W.
