WANG JINGWEI (1883-1944) Poem from Shuangzhaolou - As Nightfall Approaches Scroll, mounted and framed, ink on paper 120 x 35.5 cm. (47 ¼ x 14 in.) Inscribed and signed, with one seal of the artist Dedicated to Huizhi (Yang Daoyi, ?-1967) NOTE: The work is dedicated to Yang Daoyi, the wife of Wang Jingwei’s nephew and revolutionary Zhu Zhixin. She was active in the women’s movement in Guangdong and served as the third principal of the Zhixin School in Guangzhou founded by Sun Yat-sen in memory of Zhu Zhixin.
