AN EXCELLENT COPY IN THE ORIGINAL SHIPPING CARTON, SIGNED BY WARHOL, AND SIGNED BY SHORE who contributed the c.170 Factory photographs in this work. 'A worthy adjunct to Index (Book) ... it is a fine example of the catalogue-as-artist's book'; this catalogue 'had a great influence upon Japanese photography in the late 1960s and 1970s' ( The Photobook ). First published in 1969, this copy from the third edition. COPIES SIGNED BY BOTH WARHOL AND SHORE ARE RARE. Cf. Auer 480; The Open Book , pp. 238-39; The Photobook , vol. II, pp.144-45.
