WARHOL, Andy. The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again) . London: R.J. Acford Ltd. for Michael Dempsey and Cassell & Co. Ltd, 1975. 8° (215 x 137mm). Original khaki boards, the spine lettered in black, dustwrapper designed by Julian Rothenstein, upper panel with photographic portrait after David Bailey (dustwrapper with a few light marks, slight discoloration at edges, spine faded). Provenance : Derek Cattani (presentation inscription on front free endpaper 'To Derek , Andy Warhol , London Nov 75' around a felt-tip pen drawing of a tin of Campbell's duck soup). FIRST UK EDITION, INSCRIBED AND WITH A DRAWING BY WARHOL. The present copy was inscribed to Derek Cattani while he was photographing Warhol during the course of the BBC filming a documentary on Warhol during the artist's visit to London in 1975. The UK first edition was published in a slightly larger format than the US edition, with a different binding and a new dustwrapper incorporating a portrait of Warhol by David Bailey (cf. previous lot).
