Letter to Hamlin, then a Senator from Maine, introducing Tilden Ames of Massachusetts, who will be petitioning to improve navigation on the North River. Webster writes, "I am quite acquainted with the merits of this affiliation, as the mouth of the North River is but a few miles from my own residence."
