WEBSTER, DANIEL Autograph letter signed D. Webster, addressed to Dr. Perkins. The letter is written in black ink, faded to brown, and is dated Boston, Nov. 22, 1830. Approximately 9 1/2 x 11 inches (24 x 28 cm), single sheet folded, written both sides. 15 lines recto, 6 lines verso plus salutation and felicitation, with Webster's wax seal attached to blank fold at left. Minor cracking at one fold, some minor stains. * Autograph envelope, from Webster while a U.S. Senator, with free frank and a trace of Webter's seal on the rear. Webster writes to Dr. Perkins, a long-time friend and physician (who had attended at the deathbed of his first wife), asking him if he has been to see "Mrs. W." This would be Caroline Le Roy, who Webster had married in the year of this letter. He offers condolences on the death of Perkins's son, and outlines his busy schedule.
