Nec habeo, nec careo, nec curo], first edition, issue with Postscript beginning on F2v & "For, it is" in A7r line 3, with initial letterpress 'Explanation of the Embleme' leaf but lacking the engraved title, tyographical ornaments, water- and a few other stains, disbound, final 2ff.trimmed at outer margin, [?STC 25928.5], [?for John Marriott], [1621] § [Taylor (John)] Taylor's Motto. Et habeo, et careo, et curo, first edition, issue with "Libles" in B4r line 1, with initial letterpress 'Embleme Explained' leaf (defective) and engraved pictorial title in facsimile, a little soiled, modern calf, roan label, [STC 23800], [by Edward Allde] for I T[rundle] & H G[osson], 1621, 8vo; sold not subject to return (2) ⁂ Withers was a poet, pamphleteer and satirist, who was imprisoned several times for libel. The first conforms to STC 25928.5 in all points except for "madd" in D8r line 8, this copy has "mad". The second item is a reply to the first.
