Postcard published by Rotary Photographic Series, showing a Wright Flyer being returned to its hangar at Hunaudières in 1908. Together with 2 photographic portraits of the brothers. The postcard SIGNED on the verso by WILBUR WRIGHT and ORVILLE WRIGHT, and dated, "London, 5 May '09." In April of 1909, the Wrights visited Rome, then went via Paris to London where they received gold medals from both the Aeronautical Society and the Aero Club of Great Britain. They took orders for half a dozen vehicles to be constructed by Short Brothers and sailed for New York on the day this postcard was signed, on the Kronprinzessin Cecilie. Since Wilbur died from typhoid fever in 1912 and the brothers spent periods apart during the height of their fame, items signed by both brothers are rare.
