WWI First World War - a WWI First World War medal awarded to one James Lewis (impressed 'James Lewis'), Chief Engineer in the Navy. Complete with ribbon. Supplied with an extensive archive of paperwork, including x2 Continuous Certificate Of Discharge books showing his career pre and post WW1 with the African Steam Ship Company. The archive consists of many handwritten letters to Lewis (or his Wife) c1900s, at their home in Birkenhead, including several letters relating to his wife's death. Lewis died at sea in 1919 aboard RMS Bata, and several items relate to this. It appears his two Children were then sent to an orphanage. Lots of paperwork and documents included.
