WWII Second World War - a photograph album owned by one Douglas Warner appearing to belong to C Flight 972 Squadron RAF. Filled with photographs taken during his service in the Middle East - Egypt, from 1941. Photographs annotated within the album, including: hunting trips, soldiers, Camel Corps soldiers, Mules Company, Indian Troops, Palestine, Sergeant Whittaker's Funeral, a previously unseen & unpublished photograph of Winston Churchill visiting troops (the photograph showing him in desert dress with trademark cigar), views of the River Nile, Troop Train, Sudan Defence Force, and other service related views. The album is accompanied by a partial Yemen flag with handwritten text relating to an October 14th Revolution (October 14th 1963 was 'Liberation Day' for Yemen and was the start of the uprising against British rule), various cloth patches, his RAF cap badge, Lyneham RAF Station insignia patch, a 6th Tactical Depot Squadron Patch and a carved Middle Eastern hardwood figure. Unique collection of items.
