Provenance : William Turton (bookplate; family inscriptions in pencil on D2r and rear pastedown).

FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH, said on the title to be translated from the German but, in fact, translated from the French of Baronesse Montolieu by the Godwins, and comprising just the first volume of the original work.
