Yorkshire coal mining & estate management.- Calverley (Edmund, of Oulton Hall, Leeds, 1826-97).- Farrer (John, land agent for Edmund Calverley, 1840-1921) Copy letter book of correspondence by John Farrer on behalf of Edmund Calverley, copy manuscript, on tissue paper, c. 500pp., manuscript alphabetised address book, original half calf, worn, paper label on upper cover, 4to, 1891-97. ⁂ Coal mining, "I have considered your application to include the Duke of Leeds and your own Middleton main seam of coal as shown on the Ordnance map sent to me in the above lease. I am prepared to advise Mr. Calverley to allow the greater part of this seam of coal to be drawn through the cleft providing all other terms and conditions can be arranged." - Farrer. Estate business conducted by Farrer on behalf of Calverley who had suffered a stroke in 1892.
