ZA FRENCH METAL GILT ENAMELLED SNUFF BOX, FOUR GEORGE III EXAMPLES AND THREE PATCH BOXES, GROUP OF GILT MOUNTED METAL ENAMELLED BOXES, the English examples Staffordshire, late 18th/early 19th Century, the French example, rectangular with serpentine sides, all on white ground with gold decoration, the front with band of paired putti, the sides with garland, the detachable cover with C scroll ovals enclosing various wildlife-- circa 1750--2¼in. (5.7cm) long , the snuff boxes each polychrome enamel on white ground, comprising a waisted rectangular example, the sides with toilet scenes, the cover with hunters, stag and mottoes, the remaining three examples oval, with hinged cover, one painted with floral spray with blue broad border, one with flowers on an "moss agate" ground, the last with "agate", and floral panels on dotted ground-- the longest 3¼in. (8.3cm.) , the first patch box oval, with pink sides, hinged cover with man walking in a storm, the last two circular, each with slip on cover, one yellow The Gift is fmall But love is all , the other Be kind as You are fair , with turquoise sides, together with , a shaped oblong gilt metal mounted white enamelled snuff box, with brown town scenes (9)
