Franz Bernhard zählt zu den renommiertesten deutschen Bildhauern seiner Zeit und erlangte vor allem durch seine Großplastiken im öffentlichen Raum internationale Berühmtheit. Ein zentraler Ausgangspunkt seiner Werke ist dabei der Mensch, wobei er ihn auf wenige abstrahierte Elemente reduziert.
Die Plastik wurde bei Weinelt, Eschenburg, in einer Auflage von zehn Exemplaren sowie zwei Proben gegossen.

The sculpture was cast at Weinelt, Eschenburg, in an edition of ten plus two sample castings.
