Le constructeur produit des modèles de prestige de 15 ou 24cv. Elles prennent ainsi la suite des Darracq et à leur moteur sans soupape. En 1934, Anthony Talbot reprend les usines, alors en situation difficile. Les grèves dues à la grande crise financière affectent durement la trésorerie. Pourtant Talbot prépare une gamme complète de voitures de tourisme tout en restant très actif dans son programme de compétition. En 1936, apparaît la T15, Baby, avec moteur 6 cylindres, 2,7L. La Baby que nous présentons date de 1939 et fut acquise par le propriétaire actuel en 2016. Il voulait remplacer sa Mercedes 300 SL papillon que nous avions vendu cette année-là à Rétromobile par une décapotable pouvant accueillir ses petits-enfants. Lorsque l'on regarde ce joli cabriolet, on peut voir qu'elle a bénéficié d'une restauration ancienne, qui date très certainement d'une 30e d'années. La peinture a donc gentiment vieilli et son intérieur s'est juste patiné. Les sièges en cuir bordeaux et ses moquettes sont beaux. La mécanique démarre et tourne très bien et sortira d'une révision avant la vente. La boîte manuelle fonctionne bien également. Il s'agit d'une voiture en bon état global qui fera le bonheur d'un collectionneur qui veut rouler et faire de longues balades. The firm built prestigious 15 and 24hp models, which succeeded the Darracqs with their sleeve-valved engines. In 1934, Anthony Talbot took over the factories, then in a difficult position. The strikes due to the great financial crisis had severely affected the company's cash flow. Nonetheless, Talbot developed a full range of touring cars, while remaining very active in competition. In 1936, the T15 Baby made its appearance, with a 2.7-litre six-cylinder engine. The Baby presented here dates from 1939 and was acquired by its current owner in 2016. He wanted to replace his Mercedes 300 SL 'Gullwing', which we sold at Rétromobile that year, with a convertible with room for his grandchildren. This attractive cabriolet was evidently the subject of an older restoration some 30 years ago. The paintwork has therefore aged nicely, while the interior is simply patinated, with attractive burgundy leather seats and carpets. The engine starts and runs very well and will be serviced before sale. The manual gearbox also works well. The car is in good overall condition and will delight a collector who wants to drive the car and take it on long trips.
