1961 BMW ISETTA 300 Châssis N° 590666 A immatriculer en collection. Véhicule d'origine italienne, l'Isetta est née en 1952 avant d'être produite par BMW en 1955. Pour la deuxième fois de son histoire, BMW choisit alors un véhicule sous licence de façon à pouvoir lancer la production sans tarder. Cette voiture à deux places, dotée d'un châssis tubulaire et d'une seule porte s'ouvrant vers l'avant reçoit le surnom de “Rollende Ei”- l'oeuf sur roues. BMW approche le constructeur italien Iso et son propriétaire le comte Rivolta, avec l'idée d'acquérir les droits de fabrication de la voiture. Rivolta cède non seulement ses droits, mais aussi une bonne partie de l'outillage de fabrication. La voiture est présentée au Salon de Francfort 1955, équipée du moteur BMW 247 cm3 12 ch. Il bénéficie plus tard d'une augmentation de cylindrée, à 298 cm3, qui lui apporte un cheval supplémentaire. La carrosserie légère, combinée au moteur de moto, permet une consommation limitée, et l'Isetta n'est pas chère à l'achat: 2 580 DM, soit 500 DM de plus que la BMW R25, moto avec laquelle elle partage le moteur. Entre 1955 et 1962, BMW produit 161 728 Isetta 250 et 300 (dont 31 700 exemplaires en 1956), ce qui en fait le modèle BMW le plus vendu jusqu'alors. Elvis Presley en possédait une et Cary Grant posait pour la publicité! Cette Isetta, proposée lors de notre vente a été restaurée entièrement. Elle a retrouvé ses spécifications d'origine, tant sur la plan mécanique que cosmétique, étant habillée de sa teinte d'époque.
