Beschreibung:

Mercedes-Benz have been producing an SL (Sport Leicht) model or range of models since 1954 with the similarly styled but mechanically unrelated 190 following in 1955 and completing the first generation of cars. The second generation SL began with the 230 in 1963 and was distinguished by its lower waistline, big curved screens and a distinctive optional hardtop that earned the model its nickname of `pagoda top'. The next generation employed more advanced mechanics and, like its predecessor, became an instant hit. This righthand drive example is fitted with the three litre, straight six engine and was supplied new by a London Mercedes-Benz dealer based in Edgware to a Mrs Goodfellow of Cambridge. Finished in the original colour of Light Ochre with matching hard top roof and dark tan leather interior, in 2007 this car had a new brown mohair roof fitted and has recently had a safety check service carried out by a Mercedes-Benz specialist. This completely rust free 300SL is supplied with a full service history as shown in the service book, a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in March 2014, most of the old MoT test certificates and the service book pack containing the service book and handbooks. The splendid condition of this SL is commensurate with a car that has been cherished and properly looked after all during its whole life on the road and is a fabulous convertible for the summer.
