A COLLECTION OF SEVEN VARIOUS PAPIER MACHE TOBACCO BOXES BY STOBWASSER, BERLIN AND BRUNSWICK, FIRST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY Comprising one with the portrait of King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Preussen, the inside with a red lacquer seal impressed N 6 Berlin and with entwinned initials - 9.5 cm. diam.; one depicting Columbus breaking the Egg, after an engraving by William Hogarth of 1752, the reverse of the top inscribed Columbus. and numbered 2694 and with lacquered number 93. , the inside of the bottom numbered again 2694. and inscribed StobwassersFabrik - 10 cm. diam.; one depicting an naughty eroctic scene with inscription ,,Was bringst du Lieschen?'' ,,Eurer Gnaden Leibspeise.'' - 9.5 cm. diam.; One with reverse print of figures in an interior chasing a mouse and the text La Souris Échappée - 9.2 cm. diam.; one with a compagny of men near the Rhine and various lyrics about the Rhine - 9 cm. diam.; one with reverse prints of Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette and their son - 8.8 cm. diam; and a rectangular one with Napoleon and the Imperial guard warming near a fire - 13 x 8 cm.
