San Francisco: c.1906. 7 photographs, 2 mounted on card (various sizes, largest 171 x 225 mm). 4 photographs depicing the ruins of the San Franciso Business district, 2 photographs (1 figural) depicting street kitchens, and 1 photograph depicting citizens leaving the city in a line of horse drawn carriages. One picture bears a stamp, "James O. Rue, Fire and Earthquake Pictures, Oakland, Cal." Condition: some marginal tears and chips, browing, edgewear. collection of seven photographs depicting a devastated san francisco in the days following the 1906 earthquake and fire. Includes views of a destroyed Sansome Street towards the Merchants Exchange, the Call Building on Market Street, upper class citizens exiting the city and the street kitchens of the old town.
