A DUTCH SILVER SIX PIECE SILVER TEA SERVICE ON TWO HANDLED GALLERY TRAY, struck with prestige marks, circa 1870, comprising tea kettle, stand and lamp, teapot, two handled covered sugar bowl, cream jug, tapering circular tea caddy (finial lacking), and small waste bowl, compressed circular on skirt foot, the sides chased with alternate panels of bellflower ovoids and triangular diaperwork enclosed by chased lush foliate scrolls, beaded and gadrooned collar, with female mask headed multi scroll handle, the pots with spout in the form of a caryatid holding a horn, the bell form detachable decorated cover topped by Cupid finial, the tea kettle on four foliate claw supports with fruited vine apron between-- tea kettle on stand over decorated swing handle 11¼in. (29.2cm.) high , the elliptical tray with raised pierced and engraved gallery border, the handle cut outs applied with winged cherubs mask, together with Dutch silver table bell (no clapper), tea strainer and small tea caddy-- the tray over handles 26in. (66cm.) long, the service on tray gross weight 150.5oz. (10)
