A FAMILLE ROSE 'EUROPEAN-SUBJECT' CUP, enamelled with a scene after the Italian artist Francesco Albani (1578-1669), symbolizing Fire from 'The Four Elements', depicting Venus, goddess of lust and love, standing on a chariot, Jupiter, symbol of celestial fire and Vulcan, god of earthly fire, both in reclining pose surrounded by various figures of Amor (small rim frittings); and a famille rose 'European-subject' saucer, enamelled with Jupiter dressed as a shepherd seducing a Muse seated on a tree-trunk (small rim fritting and crack), both circa 1740 (2)
