A FINE CASED PAIR OF 12-BORE ASSISTED-OPENING SINGLE-TRIGGER SIDELOCK EJECTORS BY BOSS & CO., 13 DOVER STREET, PICCADILLY, LONDON W, SERIAL NOS. 6227/8 FOR 1912 With reblacked nitro barrels respectively numbered '1' and '2' in gold, the barrels for the No.1 gun replaced by the makers and signed 'BOSS & CO. 13/14 CORK STREET, LONDON. W.1', the reproved chopperlump barrels for the No.2 gun signed in full, 2½in. (65mm) chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and ¼ choke, case-hardened best bouquet and scroll engraved actions signed 'BOSS & CO. PATENT' on the underside and 'BOSS'S PATENT NO. 11278' on the trigger-plate, blued toplevers engraved en suite and respectively numbered '1' and '2' in gold, automatic safeties each with gold-inlaid 'SAFE', signed case-hardened locks engraved en suite and each with gold-inlaid cocking-indicator, figured 15in. stocks including 5/8in. chequered wood extension, silver escutcheons engraved 'H.M.', blued rolled-edge trigger-guards engraved en suite, and much original case-hardened and blued finish, in original brass-cornered oak and leather double case with some accessories, the lid with Boss trade label and instructions for single-trigger guns, the exterior named 'SIR HAROLD MITCHELL BT. TULLIALLAN CASTLE KINCARDINE-ON-FORTH', with canvas and leather outer 29in. (73.7cm.) barrels 6lb. 9oz. (2)
